The Sentinel 1250C Littoral Manoeuvre Craft (LMC) was developed in close collaboration with the Royal New Zealand Navy to achieve a broad range of tactical mission sets via configurable mission profiles. A small fleet is in operational service with the specialist mine warfare, diving and hydrographic team at HMNZS Matataua. Sentinel was awarded the NZ Defence Minister’s Prime Contractor of the Year 2023 in recognition of the vessel’s capability and the strength of the collaborative relationship with the New Zealand Defence Force
With the industry leading ride and performance characteristics of our smaller vessels, The Sentinel 1250C LMC, in its NZDF configuration, is capable of deploying and recovering its own 5.5m RHIB for specialist inshore tasks. It can also accommodate a variety of weapon systems and sensors, cargo loads and specialist equipment for personnel recovery.
Like the smaller 1100R, the rigorous requirements of Defence applications have been considered in the design of the Sentinel 1250C, with a head (toilet) to support long mission profiles and the maximising of deck space width using a D-collar arrangement and flush-mounted access hatches as well as an extensive electronics and surveillance package.
As a dive-purpose vessel, The Sentinel 1250C can be reconfigured to accommodate dive equipment while still providing a comfortable ride for crew, with a combination of shock absorbing seats and sufficient room for a dive team to be safely seated for long transits.
