Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2023

A glimpse of our time at Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2023

Indo Pacific conference is a significant week on the military and defence calendar, presenting a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow industry players and professionals. This year the Sentinel Boats team had a commanding presence in the main conference hall, at the Tasmanian Defence stand, and on Darling Harbour.

Accompanied by Sentinel Boats representatives and members of the Royal New Zealand Navy, our third LMC built for the RNZN, the Matawha, stood proud in the conference hall. After weeks preparing the vessel for transportation and farewelling it from our Hobart workshop, the team was extremely proud to see it sharing the floor with some of the biggest defence companies in the world and being toured by esteemed naval professionals.

Our presence at the Tasmanian Defence stand connected our small yet mighty Tasmanian team with many industry players supplying quality products to the defence industry. We are extremely proud of existing suppliers, but with builds often having unique requirements, events like Indo Pac provide an opportunity to connect with different companies that may be able to satisfy specific needs for defence, rescue, and security clients.

In collaboration with technology leaders L3Harris, the Sentinel 1100 was on-water, providing guests with a first-hand demonstration of the capability of our vessels. Each day, the vessel left Darling Harbour fitted with autonomous technology for an on-water demonstration of what world-class technology can do on a world-class vessel. (Read more about that here.)

Three days, three stands, and weeks of preparation later, the Sentinel Boats farewelled the Matawha on its way to its new home port and returned to Hobart with a lot of motivation for 2024.
